This has been a busy few weeks. My dream is to start my own business. I know I have been blessed with a certain amount of creativity and writing ability. I long to utilize what I’ve been given, but getting started and staying focused is tough. Starting an online business is not hard to do, but it sure takes a lot of time and effort. I’ve learned about FTP and uploading files. I finally figured out how to create a website page and have started optimizing it for search engines. I’m writing and collecting content. Slowly but surely it’s coming together, but not fast enough for me. There is so much I want to do!

I’m learning though, that I can do it. One step at a time, occasionally taking a step backwards to regain perspective and make sure I’m not wasting time wandering down a bunny trail. I think the only reason I persevere is because I believe in myself and what I’ve been gifted to do.

Do you know what your strengths are? Do you know you’ve been given gifts and abilities meant for you to use? Uncovering them starts by believing they are there inside you.

Do you remember the kids in school who were average? The ones who didn’t excel academically or on the ball field? Maybe you were one of the forgotten masses. We are  in a culture that values beauty, scholarship, and athleticism. Those who are compassionate, empathetic, loving to everyone, or shy, quiet inventors, are often not valued, recognized or encouraged.

Not everyone has one of the “big 3” gifts of beauty, smarts or physical talent. Those that do, congratulations, I hope you use and develop those gifts to their fullest potential. The rest of us may have to work a bit harder to come to a belief we really have something to offer the world. I really love the book Life Keys, Discover Who You Are by Kise, Stark and Hirsh. www.lifekeys.com   I highly recommend it as a starting place for discovering that yes, indeed, there are valuable and useful gifts just waiting to be discovered inside us all.
