Every day we face things that threaten to ruin our day or distract us from our goals. Often, we see successful people moving forward as if life has been all laid out nice and easy for them and all they have to do is stroll along the path. We believe if they had to deal with what we deal with, they wouldn’t be so successful, or so carefree and optimistic. We listen to an internal voice that tells us our problems are worse than anyone else’s. Our problems are insurmountable fortress walls that are keeping us from our dreams.

In reality, the only difference between our lives and the lives of successful people is what we focus on. People who have achieved any measure of success, either in finances, or athletics, or business, or in relationships, all have this in common – they chose to focus on their goals and not their limitations.

Have you ever heard of Nick Vujicic? He was born without arms or legs. If anyone has an excuse to sit still and mope about the unfairness of life he does. The man swims, boats, plays soccer and gives motivational speeches all over the world. He points out that many of us keep on wishing for things we don’t have instead of focusing on the things we do have and using those gifts. His secret to success? Thankfulness.

The number one, most powerful thing you can do to change your life, your outlook and your future is to take stock of what you do have and then tell God “Thank you.” Change your focus from what you don’t have, to what you do have and express gratitude for it. You will be amazed at how this will unleash your creativity and opportunities for using what you do have to achieve the dreams God put in your heart.

Nick’s story will inspire, encourage and challenge you. Learn more about his life and his ministry here: Life Without Limbs
