“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

God calls us to be diligent workers. The responsibility is on us to work well for His kingdom. Those who are called to leadership, whether it is in the home, in a ministry or in a place of business, have a extra accountability to be faithful before the Lord; faithful to handle His word with integrity and truth.

My greatest desire is to stand before the Lord at the end of my days on earth and hear Him say “well done, my good and faithful servant.” So I am exquisitely aware of my duty to handle His word properly, and to not lead astray anyone who reads my words or listens to my presentations.

When I read that verse from Timothy, my first response was, “Lord, how can I be sure I am conveying your truth and not my own understanding?”  As I dug through online bible resources to learn more about the word meanings behind 2 Timothy 2:15, I found this at www.biblia.com:

“Read the Bible so frequently, so thoughtfully, so earnestly, so prayfully, that is comes to you without thought without direct effort on your part. When the scripture is in your heart, you can trust the Holy Spirit to interpret it and give you wisdom.” God is so faithful to answer our questions when we ask!

It is simply that easy. If we would just spend our time seeking after God, He will take care of all the rest.
